A new master planning is to be done in the area of Suzhou. A city where is often being considered as a cradle of ancient chinese artists, is also a house of various famous gardens describing the dream of the spatial form of the nation. Although we do not yet see the final planning of the entire master plan, we see a potential of constructing a modern garden city that reflects its ancient culture.
Inside this new garden city, the site of this proposed research centre lies near the western corner, is also near the main park connecting the hills in the north and the waterscape in the central axis. It makes a perfect location for this project to become a point of nice scenery, rest, and a shelter location from the sun and rain provided to the people in the park and waterfront. We choose to design this project to become a gazebo in the garden, as a gazebo inside any Suzhou garden.
